Thinking back to January last year, it was impossible to predict what 2020 had in store for the world, let alone the world of real estate.

January 2021 is indicating that we will continue to see a very hot Toronto real estate market, much like we did in 2020. Homebuyers are continuing to look for more space, bigger backyards, pools and even looking for properties that will make their “staycations” more comfortable and appealing.

We are also seeing many first-time home buyers enter the condo market as they have been able to save for a downpayment due to lack of socializing and a decrease in household expenses. And with interest rates remaining as low as they have, it’s not a surprise that acquiring real estate is a priority for so many in the GTA.

The year has started off with low inventory making it a seller’s market, and I believe this will be the case for some time. This makes it even more important for sellers to work with an experienced realtor who has a strategy and for buyers even more so, as you want to win in multiple offer situations.

Finally, I’m so grateful that real estate is deemed as essential and I have the ability to do what I love daily, while so many are on pause. It makes me happy to know that I’m helping my clients move forward with their goals and securing a better financial future.

So here’s to a new year, a new start, and to the light at the end of the tunnel.

We will get there together.
